Holmans Wood Holiday Park, Chudleigh

|
Touring and Camping Accommodation
Holmans Wood (01626 853 785) is a holiday park for
caravans,
tourers and campers. It is situated just off the A38 12 minutes south
of Exeter and 2 minutes north of Chudleigh. The Highwayman's
Haunt (01626 853 250) is just down the road on the way to Chudleigh.
Having visited the park I can tell you that it is very clean,
attractive and totally relaxing. The views of the surrounding meadows
and hills are absolutely lovely, this place is a little gem and well
worth stopping if you are looking for a place either for the night or
for an extended stay. The managers Marion and Tony Barzilay are good
decent people and very welcoming.
The park is situated between the coastal beaches and the moor and both
are only 15 minutes drive away including Hay Tor.
I must admit to being highly impressed and if I didn't live just down
the road in Chudleigh, I would be staying there myself.

The entrance to Holmans Wood park as seen
from the slip road off the B3344 (which is the road that exits the A38
on its way to Chudleigh).

Carvan parking is neat and tidy and surrounded by beautiful planting
and neatly mown lawns.

The washing and facilities block is clean and modern with every
necessity provided.

A closer view of the facilities block.

Delightful views abound in the park, the surrounding hills complete the
perfection.

As you can see, popular camping site, for very good reasons.

The tent/camping area, very secluded and peaceful.

The meadow right next to the camping area. The photo above is to the
right of this area and part of the same field. The meadow has a path
cut through the grass and flowers that circumnavigates the entire field
- it makes for a wonderful walk with access to a little brook. You can
just about see (in the photo) the thatched cottage to the left of the
large tree in the middle of the photo.

A daisy strewn part of the path. It looked even more beautiful in real
life.

A close up of the flowers in the meadow. The photo shows mostly
buttercups but a closer look reveals an abundance of variety and shows
the meadow to be older than it looks.

A broad view of the meadow, the view from the camping area.
